David Fong is the Chairman. He is a co-founder of iSpring Capital and has over 22 years experience in the financial services industry in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and England of which the last 20 have been in investment banking and venture capital. Since 1992, he has been working with technology companies in and out of Malaysia. Prior to iSpring Capital, he was head of Corporate Finance and Direct Investments with Hwang-DBS Securities Bhd (“HDBS”) where he advised and assisted (mainly technology) companies on their fund raising strategies. From 1992-1998, he was a Vice President with the Walden Group, an international venture capital firm where he managed a venture capital fund focusing on investments in Asia and the US. David holds a BA (Hons) from Univ of Manchester, England, is Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He has been a committee member of the Malaysian Venture Capital Association since 1999 and is currently the Chairman of the Association.
Asgari Stephens is an Executive Director. He has extensive experience in both public and private equity investing in Malaysia. Between 1988 and 1995, he worked in various capacities in Usaha Tegas, part of the Tanjung Group. In 1995, he co-founded and started Kumpulan Sentiasa Cemerlang, an investment advisory and fund management group. Between 1998 and 1999, he was with the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) where he was in charge of special projects. In September 1999, he founded Intelligent Capital Sdn Bhd, a venture capital firm where he was principal until recently. Since 1995, Asgari has been involved with several start-up companies as an angel investor and has been actively involved in building their businesses as mentor. One of these companies has since gone public. Asgari holds a BCom (Hons) from Univ of Melbourne and a MBA from Cranfield Univ, UK. He is active in the venture capital industry in Malaysia and was until recently, chairman of the Malaysian Venture Capital Association.
Wee Su San (Ms) is the Director - Investments. She is a founding member of the iSpring Capital Group. Prior to iSpring Capital, she spent 3 years with Arthur Andersen, Singapore before focusing the next 7 years on corporate finance in Malaysia firstly with Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad, a leading merchant bank, and subsequently with two leading stockbrokers, TA Securities Berhad and HDBS. She has advised both public and private companies on fund raising exercises including IPOs and has the distinction of being involved in the first IPO on MESDAQ. Since 1998, Su San has been involved in advising technology companies on their business and funding strategies. Su San holds a Bachelor (Commerce) degree from the Univ. of Melbourne, Australia and is a CPA with the Australian Society of CPAs.
